How is Korean red ginseng extract sourced?

Korean Ginseng is sourced from the root of the ginseng plant, a slow-growing flora which can be found throughout Asia. This naturally medicinal plant produces three types of ginseng; fresh, white, and red. Red ginseng is the most prized – and most expensive – as it comes from more established plants that are harvested at six years or more, while fresh and white ginseng come from much younger plants.

How do you make Ginseng Tea?

Here is a simple recipe for making ginseng tea:


  • 1-2 g of dried ginseng root or 3-4 g of fresh ginseng root
  • 2 cups of water
  • Honey or lemon (optional)


  1. Rinse the dried or fresh ginseng root thoroughly under running water.
  2. Cut the root into small pieces.
  3. Add the ginseng root and water to a pot and bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer for 30-45 minutes.
  5. Remove the pot from the heat and let it cool for a few minutes.
  6. Strain the mixture into a cup using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth.
  7. Add honey or lemon to taste, if desired.
  8. Enjoy your ginseng tea!

Note: If you prefer a stronger or weaker tea, you can adjust the amount of ginseng root or water accordingly. Additionally, some people may prefer to use ginseng tea bags, which are available at many health food stores and online retailers. The instructions for brewing tea bags will vary depending on the brand, so be sure to follow the instructions on the packaging.
