Moroccan Lamb Tagine 🇲🇦

Today we are heading to North Africa, with a slow- cooked Moroccan Lamb Tagine using the Chilli No. 5 Heavenly Harissa gourmet chilli sauce.
We start with delicately diced lamb shoulder and build the tagine using red onions, garlic, dried apricots, sultanas, almonds, honey coriander as well as our Heavenly Harissa sauce.

  • 4 lb. boneless lamb roast, cut into 1" pieces
  • Kosher Salt
  • 3 c. chicken broth
  • 1 c. dried apricots
  • 3 tbsp.  extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 4 cloves garlic, sliced
  • 2 tbsp. freshly minced ginger
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • Small pinch saffron
  • 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1/2  tsp ground coriander
  • 1/4 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4  tsp ground cloves
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 c. Freshly chopped cilantro, plus more for garnish
  • 1/2 c. toasted almonds
  • Mint leaves, for serving
  • 1 tbsp Argan Oil
  • 3 tbsp Tomato Sauce
  • 1 bottle Chilli No. 5 Heavenly Harissa Hot Sauce


  • In a large bowl, toss lamb with about 2 teaspoons salt. Let sit at room temperature for 1 hour or overnight in the refrigerator.
  • Also to stay overnight – spice up the lamb, with typical Moroccan spices & with Chilli No. 5 Heavenly Harissa Hot Sauce.
  • Chop the onion, the garlic and tomatoes
  • Once all cut, sautée the lamb directly in the BBQ with some Argan Oil together with the previously cut ingredients
  • Add some tomato sauce
  • Mix it well and pour it and leave it to rest
  • In the meantime place the lamb on the BBQ to gain a bit of BBQ flavour
  • Transfer the lamb into the tagine bowl
  • Finish it off with some veggies
  • Cut the carrots and the red pepper – to serve as topping
  • Add the apricots and dates on top, together with the parsley
  • And before closing it add some lamb stock to enhance flavour
  • Et voila!
