BBQ Tuna Steak

Today we have a beautifully simple yet delicious recipe for BBQ Wicked Wasabi Tuna Steak cooked with the bell pepper – sometimes grouped with less pungent chilli varieties as “sweet peppers”. And of course with the most important ingredient of all – our Chilli No. 5 Wicked Wasabi Hot Sauce. Our Wicked Wasabi Hot Sauce is wasabi seasoning reinvented! We’ve taken wasabi and made it into a superfood wasabi sauce.
Tuna Steak is soaked in Soy sauce to give an Asian flavour, pepper and salt. Because marinating isn't required, you can make this tuna steak recipe on the spur of the moment. These BBQ grilled tuna steaks are delicious served with rice and green beans or simply over a bed of greens with an Asian-style salad dressing.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 fresh skinless tuna steak
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 large onion
  • 100 g leek
  • 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oi or Chilli No. 5 Pizza Pizzazz
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1 bottle Chilli No. 5 Wicked Wasabi Hot Sauce

Instructions
 

  • Season the previously soaked in soja tuna steaks with the squeezed garlic cloves, 1 teaspoon of salt and freshly ground pepper and set aside.
  • Peel the onion and slice it, as well as the leek. Set aside.
  • Add peppers & tuna steak to the BBQ
  • Cover and cook for about 20 minutes over moderate heat, turning occasionally
  • Once ready, remove these from the BBQ
  • For the peppers just remove the seeds and white skin and cut them into thin strips.
  • Lay all previouslt cut peppers on the serving plate
  • Add the sliced tuna on top
  • To end, add the secret ingredient: Wicked Wasabi Hot Sauce on top!

This simple superfood recipe is packed with flavor and has an abundance of super healthy ingredients from the land and the sea. What’s more, low in calories but packed with minerals and nutrients, tuna is a powerhouse of essential nutrients and omega-3 fatty acids – full of good fat and protein, all of which have key roles in improving your health.
 
One last tip! When shopping, consider thicker steaks since they will cook more evenly. Tuna steaks are one of the simplest pieces of fish to prepare because they are sold pre-cut and require minimal preparation.
 
The recipe is so quick to prepare and will be ready in 15 minutes. It will work as a tapas-style side dish, or a big sharing bowl for you and your friends to dive into a light dinner.
