This ketchup is smooth and silky, with a punch of chilli heat that was warming and long-lasting. The black garlic gave a lovely sweetness, but the basil was a little lost. The consistency was looser than expected, and we wondered if it would be better categorised as a sauce rather than a ketchup, but it is an excellent chilli sauce.
A smooth chilli sauce, vibrant with tomato and sweet pepper flavours, with an appealing consistency for pouring/spooning. We felt this struck a great balance, with the sweet, sour and spicy elements sitting together happily, married with a judicious seasoning with salt and garlic. A well-rounded product that we can imagine being impressive in terms of its versatility.
A condiment with a great consistency and aroma. The heat we find a touch fierce, certainly intensifying, though we can see it could prove subtle when added to a culinary creation. The freshness of tomato and pepper is palpable, the basil perhaps less so, but we applaud the gentle balance of the two garlic adjuncts. A really well-constructed hot ketchup.
